New store openings: a launching pad for community involvement
August 13, 2010 - Community is a Core Value that we hold close to our hearts at Rexall. We are committed to giving back to the communities we serve and most importantly, we promote the significance of balanced lifestyles, encouraging healthier and stronger communities.
Our Community Core Value highlights our dedication to the health and wellbeing of our neighbours and their families through our charitable Foundation. In 2009, the Rexall Foundation supported over 40 health-related causes across Canada. To date in 2010, we have supported 38 charitable organizations including Gilda's Club of Greater Toronto, Gabriola Health Care Society in British Columbia and the Arthritis Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories - and we're only half way through the year!
Our new store openings are one of our best opportunities to build relationships with these local health organizations and show our dedication to the community. Recently, our grand openings in Brockville and Southampton, Ontario, featured donations to the Saugeen Shores Memorial Hospital Foundation, and the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation's Palliative Care Program. Giving back to local hospitals in small communities like Southampton and Brockville ensure that area residents are receiving the best possible care tailored to their specific needs. We all share the same values in helping our communities be healthier and stronger every day, and it is this commonality that helps Rexall Foundation provide the support that is
needed.
